Background History
The Department of History at Mandalar College was established in 2012 and Dr. Sain Nan, Lecturer, took charge as the first Head of Department. And then Dr. Soe Soe Than, Professor from 2016 to 2020, Dr. Win Pe, Associate Professor in 2020, Dr. Aye Aye Than, Professor in 2020, and Dr. Win Hlaing, Lecturer, in 2021 were appointed as the Heads of Department. At the present, Dr.Shwe Thazin, Professor, is taking charge as the Head of Department of History.
Vision
The Department of History, Mandalar University strives to cultivate the understanding of the past, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills among history students. Through research and teaching methods, we aim to interpret historical facts from diverse perspectives.
Mission
The mission of History Department is to provide students with a comprehensive study of history and to inspire them to become active participants in nation building of our country based on the understanding of history.
Primary Academic Goals
The academic goals of History Department are to develop student’s abilities to conduct research, and to analyse historical sources, events and themes.
